The Pines Ranch has been welcoming guests for over a hundred years. It has served as a summer resort for city dwellers, a guest ranch, dude ranch, and wedding venue.
Our mission is to preserve the history of this amazing property, protect its gorgeous environment, preserve the "Old Lodge" built in 1898, and most importantly to continue welcoming guests to this beautiful Colorado setting.
Our organization has already received a grant from History Colorado to assist us in our first preservation goal: getting the Old Lodge placed on the National Register of Historic Places. We are thrilled to have the expert assistance of Front Range Research Associates preparing the nomination paperwork and expect to hear about the nomination in early 2021.
We are actively pursuing another grant with History Colorado to have a thorough historic assessment by an experienced and highly accomplished architecture firm. This will tell us much about the condition of the building and help us plan to fully restore and safely utilize the Old Lodge for future guests.
This historic guest ranch is meant to be shared. Our passion is to help guests find rest in this extraordinary place that has been used for rest since the first owner offered bunk space to hardworking miners in the late 1800s.
Our non-profit makes it possible for donors to help cover the cost of a stay for others. In 2020, we've been fortunate to host nurses and their families who have been impacted by COVID-19. We look forward to continuing to serve medical professionals as well as foster/adopt families, first responders, veterans and active-duty military.
